petra class

German born but living in San Francisco, Petra loves to take less rare gemstones and small talismans and elevate them to objects of beauty and respect. She bezel sets in gold and arranges them together with legs, pegs and bridges. Sometimes web like, always delicate and lyrical with a dash of irreverent humor. Best known for earrings, necklaces and brooches. Prices range from $650 to $8000.

Myra Dabrowski

Now living in Providence, Rhode Island, Myra uses faceted gemstone beads to create a palate of glistening colors for her luscious necklaces and earrings. Brilliant, saturated colors, rainbow effects and sparkle make these pieces seductive and desirable. She mixes tiny and grand sized ruby, sapphire, tanzanite, moonstone and tourmaline beads with high karat gold accents. The work is comfortable to wear and is appropriate for day and night. Necklaces and earrings from $600 to $4000.

Nancy Daniels

Rough hewn and sophisticated, this Montana risk taker is a master of mixing precious and found objects into jewelry of intriguing beauty. She can use a colorful scrap of tin like a gemstone, or carve into the bone of last nights dinner to make a surface like ivory. Her inventive insects are some of my favorites, but her collages of turquoise, coral, silver and gold are not to be missed. She loves surface design and texture (even in hidden places), and often layers materials for saturation. Bracelets and earrings and pins from $250.

Devta Doolan

Devta lives in Maine with ancestors in New Zealand. His jewelry is high karat gold setting of bold semi-precious stones. He is also known for using diamond crystals as they are found in nature before cutting and polishing. Devta’s work is large in scale, minimal in embellishments, and strong in design and presentation. His rings are often bezel set stones, typically with strong colors and innovative faceting. He makes a range of earrings, brooches, chains, and men's jewelry. Prices range from $450 to $8000.

Pat Flynn

Referred to as the jeweler’s jeweler, Pat can coax inspiring beauty from common throw away objects. His pairing of rusted nails and diamonds executed with flawless gold mechanisms and details are exceptionally exquisite and sophisticated. His enduring heart brooches, each unique, but exactly the same in format and size, are as close as he gets to narrative. His work is remarkably precious and refreshingly humble. Brooches, necklaces and earrings from $600 to $4000.

Sarah Graham

Eschewing color for the purity of black and white, Sarah applies a jet black patina to surgical quality steel. She mixes black steel with the white metals of platinum and white gold, employing brilliant white and black diamonds. Her petal design linked bracelets, earrings and pendants are youthful and casual but elegant enough for evening wear. Full range of jewelry with prices from $450 to $4000.

Gurhan

Gurhan jewelry is both contemporary and ancient in look and appeal. 24kt gold beads in olive and lentil shapes, hammered and sand polished surfaces are evocative of a Byzantine sensibility and Gurhan’s native Turkey. Many pieces are enhanced with pearls and precious stones. The jewelry is fabricated using techniques that have been used for millennia. This results in objects which are classic in their simple beauty. Prices range from $600 to $4000.

Barbara heinrich

Classically inspired 18kt gold, diamond and precious stone jewelry which have been described as “contemporary classic." Barbara is originally from Germany and educated at RIT and the Pforzheim Academy in Germany. Her milky way series with incised and embossed surface of celestial images are some of the more popular of her works. She is internationally known and was featured in the acclaimed pearl exposition at the Museum of Natural History in New York City. Her flawless surface and execution wide and varied live from platinum bands to bold necklaces. Jewelry from $450 to $15,000.

Susan Hoge

Using precious beads as her palate, this Michigan artist uses complex stringing techniques and patterns to enhance her bracelets and necklaces. She is fond of high quality, precious beads which are refined in the mixture of colors, but vivid in their presence. Elegant mechanisms, necklaces and bracelets from $1500 to $5000.

hughes-Bosca

A collaboration of two vibrant Boston jewelers whose love of materials and life is apparent in every piece. They love high quality pearls and gemstones, particularly faceted beads. However they also employ ancient bronze artifacts such as buckles and coins as a counterpoint to the luscious gemstones. Their settings are heavy 18 kt. gold with generous surface embellishment and texture to enhance the color of the gold. There is abundant sprinkling of small, high quality diamonds which gives their work even more life. Necklaces, rings and earrings from $900.

John iversen

This German born Long Island jeweler is best known for his leaf interpretations. He uses actual leafs that he finds on the ground. Than cover the back with wax to increase their thickness and give them strength. He does not touch the front. Through a process similar to lost wax, they are converted to gold, bronze or silver. He is skilled at preserving the patterns, surface and personality of the leaf in these exciting replicas. He often applies a beautiful patina to enhance the piece. In addition, John is known for his large scale and minimal enamels, and his botanical jewelry. Brooches and earrings from $550.
