Paintings
on exhibit
The Shaw Gallery presents paintings and
works on paper throughout the year. Contemporary artists
from Maine and those inspired by Maine subjects rotate
month-long shows. Shaw Gallery also has a strong history
of collecting modernist regional paintings from the
post World War II period. There is strong support for
local artists with the “MDI Open" which is
an annual nonjuried exposition of fresh ideas. You will
find a variety of show themes and objects including:
intimate oils, photographs, sculpture, watercolors,
nudes and landscapes. Exhibits change every two weeks
during the summer season.
